What's up this winter??

Postby qtrmile2 » Nov 13 2008, 14:22

Are you doing anything to your rides this winter? I know, some of you guys don't have winter. For the Camaro I'm gunna make some weight boxes and mount them in the trunk. When I run S/ST I slow the car down with extra weight and lower the timing. It contains the lead shot bags or weight bars so they don't roll around.
Should have the motor and tranny back in the Nova in a couple weeks. Then I might start on the Corvette I have in the shop. It needs header gaskets and brake work. The old truck needs to be detailed in the engine compartment.
My 98 SS Camaro and my wifes trans am needs a good buffing and wax job.
So my winter is planned for me unless I see another car I just have to have
What are you guys doing??????????????

Winter? It already snowed an inch 2 nights ago.

I bought a 12 bolt form a 69 Chevelle that will fit. Trying to liquidate some of my ebay stash to finance a new posi and gears. Depending on what cash is leftover, I might also swap in rear disc brakes.

First thing is to drywall/plywood the ceiling in my garage. All the walls are done, but it gets damn cold out there come January and my propane heater sucks the oxygen out of the garage.

I am pretty set, I'm just waiting for my weekends off to rotate around so I can go try it out. I want to add a vacuum pump and I wouldn't mind swapping my top end over to a 18 degree set up from RFD (I actually have a 18 degree bottom end now) but that depends. I have someone wanting the bottom end for their dirt drag truck and someone else wants the top end. If they come across, I will be building a 454 18 degree bullet... :D
IF you think no one cares, try missing a payment...

Greetings!
It's been a busy fall.
After a short summer of driving - It was late August when I finally got my car on the road.
I put 35 psi in the tires,Stabil in the tank, filled her up with Premium, pulled the battery and
covered her up in early October for a 7 month hibernation. Now it's time for my Winter projects -
Restoring old metal toys, not the full scale kind, the little one's - Tonka, Structo, Tootsie cars, trucks and trains.

Now that sounds like a cool hobby and winter project. I collect die cast cars and ho cars.
