PROMO CARS

Postby Rudy's Stingray » May 24 2010, 13:29

Greetings!
I have a fairly small collection of Promotional cars.
For those that do not know what a "Promo" car is, they are miniature cars that were
licensed by the OEM, to a couple of different manufacturers to produce them and offered for sale
to the public in the parts and service departments at the car dealership.

As to when promo cars first got started and how many models were produced each year, I do not know.
With the exception of (1) car, all of mine are Corvettes. There sizes vary slightly. For example, my 1970 LT-1
measures 7"x3"x2". They are plastic, with exceptional detail. It's the perfect size to display alone or on a vintage Tonka,
Structo or Buddy-L toy car carrier. I actually am selling off part of my collection of Corvettes and (1) other car.

I bought these from a collection at Bloomington Gold in Bloomington, Illinois about 10 years ago.
They are brand new in the box and I'm selling them for what I paid for them - $14.00 each plus shipping.

Here's a list of what I have for sale:
1994 Corvette Convertible (Polo Green Metallic)
1994 Corvette Convertible (Bright Aqua Metallic)
1995 Corvette Convertible (Black)
1996 Corvette Coupe (Bright Aqua Metallic)
and a 1995 Camaro Z28 (Mystic Teal Metallic)

If seriously interested, drop me an e-mail (rudyweise@comcast.net) and I will be happy to carefully
take them out of there tissue wrapped packaging and send your photos. They are so well packaged I didn't
want to disturb their packaging unless there was serious interest.

Thanks.
Joe
