My newest daily driver/project

Postby Chevguy65 » Sep 01 2010, 21:03

Is a 1997 S10 LS.
It has A/C, 2.2L, 5 spd, and custom Leer bed cover.
Oh yeah, a K&N Cold air intake.
Interior is in great shape, engine is good and body is pretty straight and paint is fair.
I want to swap the 64/40 bench for some nice buckets and console.

It also seems to have a slight gas leak from somewhere that comes and goes.
It was weeping and staining the driveway as well as giving off a raw fuel smell when I stopped or parked it.
I cleaned the under carriage until you could eat off of it and since then it has not resurfaced.
Granted it has only been a few days and since I have not worked this week it has not seen more than about 8-10 miles.

Anyway, here are a few pics...

Thanks everyone.

My plan is to drive it as is until I can figure out which way to go.
Before I can even think about doing any major work on it I need to help my brother finish out his 51 GMC so I can have the garage.
Currently his new and old chassis take up the entire garage.

I also have to sell my trooper.

If I took a right and another right I would end up at the pacific ocean.
I think you meant take a left and then a right.
I would seriously consider it IF your winters were more like Hawaii's.

LOL..I doubt it with 200+ K miles on it, but before I ever change it out I might throw a 300 shot on it and see how long it lasts.

Nice truck, Carl. One of my buds has one of those, bought new, and has 300,000+ on the clock.

I'm with mytmouz......that thing is begging for a 5.3!!!

First off I am happy to see you back my friend!!!!!!!
Thanks for the compliment.

I have met a couple of guys since I bought it and they also have 300,000 + miles on them and still going strong.

LOL..ok ok I have been toying with sliding an LS2 under the hood.
That is one engine I can do a swap with and still pass emission testing.

Still, that truck with one of Mark's 468's and I would not be able to keep it on the road...hehehe

There is, as you know, huge aftermarket support for those little trucks. Man, you can make that thing handle like a 'vette, and pull like a 2-hog freight train. As if it is something you don't already know....that sport is pay to play, baby....pay to play. How fa$t do you want to go?

Either way, nice little truck Carl. It looks good the way it sits.
