I finally took the time out from my unholy busy schedule today (actually went to the pull a part nearby, so I killed 2 birds with one stone) and got some fresh fuel for mytmouz. I emptied the old fuel that went sour and filled her up, and hit the key. MAN, I forgot how sweet she sounds. I checked for leaks, checked the tranny fluid level, and then went through the gears, (the rear is up on stands) to see if the tranny was good. (I haven't tried it since the rebuild). The new vacuum setup pulls -10.5 hg, so that's good. It was running so good I hated to shut it off, but I had to before the neighbors got pissed. Unfortunately, I have a backfeed issue with the new 1 wire mini alternator, so it wouldn't shut off. I cut the pump off and let her run dry. So, all I lack now is to figure out the alt. issue and rebleed the brakes after the new master/linr loc install. And she is good to go. My work schedule is rotating around to weekends off, so in about 3 weeks, I'm hoping for good weather...

I don't have a camcorder, I figure for what they cost, I can get a new set of slicks! And my cheap cell phone doesn't take pics or record sound...

Good to hear that T. Are you gunna try to get it out this year? Do you need a in line diode for the alternator to keep it from doing that?

I'm going to try to run it in about 3 weeks or so, at least, that is the plan. Not sure how much I will get to this year, but I do intend to as the schedule allows. I'm not sure if it's a diode issue, or a wiring issue. (I didn't do all the wiring) I have a Ford style solenoid and I have the alt. on the battery cutoff side, but there are some mystery wires also on that side that I suspect is the backfeed issue. But the link would be nice, in case that turns out not to be it...

Well, update time, sorta... I ran it a couple of times so far, but no good runs. Hopefully, I have the bugs worked out now. I diassembled the calipers today and freed them up, trying to get a couple of shakedowns either this weekend or next. I have someone making a set of tubular a arms, and I'm going to run Willwood discs on Pinto spindles with that. Weighed the spindle/brakes today, and I will save 42 lbs, plus whatever the a arm weight difference will be. Unfortunately, they won't be in in time for me to make my race next month, I don't believe.
Just gotta disassemble the carb for a good cleaning and rebleed the brakes, hopefully...
