Got it home and detailed. I was letting it idle for a few while I was getting ready to take it out for an extended cruise. heard a noise and shut it down. This was yesterday. Trailered it to my buds shop and we did a little investigating, only made a noise after it came up to temp, decided to pull it out and tear it down. Did that today. Whoever built the engine (new Speed Pro flattops, worked stock rods with L19 bolts, 268 comp cam) had the torque specs too tight on the main bolts and it wiped the front bearing and the crank. Pulled a fresh .010/.010 small journal steel crank from the parts stash and cleaned it up. Waiting on bearings...

Well, it HAS been a while, lol... I got a 700r4 tranny with a fresh build given to me. I installed a Fairbanks second gear servo upgrade, a cheapo replacement corvette convertor, a one wire lock up conversion, and it actually worked. All I can say is, I LUV overdrive. This thing has been a blast to drive. I regularly do 100 mile plus trips in it. I was out in it yesterday and well, I hit a big azz dog, busted one of the projector headlights, bent the tube grille, bent the bumper, not sure about panels, and something poked a hole in the fuel tank, I IZ waiting on the patch to dry as we speak to see if it will leak, of course, I just filled it up..

Well, I got it back together, need to just touch up the paint. I think I like the billet grille better than the old tube grille anyway...

No sir! I don't need another racecar gathering dust. I got the AC blowing cold in this one, and it is my daily driver...
