Car of the Month Delay

Postby Chevguy65 » Jul 06 2010, 02:54

I am sorry everyone.

But due to unforeseen circumstances I am without my graphics man and do not know for sure when he will be able to return.

Please be patient.

I know this site doesn't have a lot to offer and I hope now that com is delayed I do not lose what members I have left.

I'm here too. I wish everyone here had more to say. I may not be alone in feeling this way...I pop in and see what is new, and there usually isn't much going on. There are a lot of racers here, that I'll bet are pretty bust from spring to fall. Is WC1 doing okay? I hope so.

Just my thought.
Alot of guys work on stuff in the Summer and don't spend alot of time on the computer. I know that's my excuse but I do know Carl would like us to visit more because he does work hard keeping this site a float. I for one appreciate what Carl does but I can't force people to post. Don't get me wrong I am as guilty as the rest. I can't post during the day when I'm at work because the Bastards kick me off. I'm off work today so I can get on here and post.

I would definetly like to see more activity on here. I just don't know how to make that happen. Hell, there's a damn good group of guys on here to talk with we just have to make time to do it. Hopefully this winter everybody will be more active on here. That is if Carl holds the site together until then. I hope he does.
Everybody is doing stuff so post what your doing. I know I just bought a 1971 Chevelle and a 1951 chevy to restore. I'll try to find time to post up some pics. I know you guys are doing stuff so post up and let everybody know what your doing. I would like to know.
OK enough said.

Good post Vince. I agree, it's been busy, I rarely get on at home, and my sausage fingered typing on my crackberry @ work leaves me mostly lurking. Since I am both working and broke, project stuff and racing is on the backburner, so I don't really have anything to show. But, I promise, if you post it, I will try my best to reply guys...

I was out for a couple of months. I didn't plan it, it just happened and now it's over...It flew by, but while it was going on, it seemed like an eternity. I had personal issues that needed to be addressed...and the address was different than the one I have with my family in Stafford...anyway, now I'm back at home and happily posting on the internet, doing graphics and hanging in there. Life happens...all seriousness aside, Vince's post made me think. That can be good sometimes.

What about a project car of the month? Or, considering the number of projects we have going on at any given time, a quarterly project? I guess we'd have to check and see how many projects we have...with input I can put something together. I haven't looked around the internet at other sites, but the 2 major ones I visit other than this one do not have a car of the month or a project feature as such...

Some of the racing sites have ongoing build sections that show stages of completion and detailed progress stories, but not a message board deal like this is. If we could figure out a way to get this stuff up front on the net then it might attract more serious hot rodders in addition to the ones we already have. I'll work up a prototype on one of Vince's deals, like the '51 and see what Carl thinks.

These ideas are open for feedback. Speaking of which, I have a gig to play today in Santa Fe (formerly known as Alta Loma..."the high ground"), TX at the Haak Winery and I'll be going in a couple of hours
http://www.haakwine.com
but I'll see what I can come up with.

Everybody have a safe and happy Labor Day! I predict Larry Dixon will win Top Fuel at the US Nationals (shortened from the Mac Tools Full Throttle NHRA US Nationals presented by Lucas Oil at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis...what a crock...) because his initials are also the holiday's initials. Plus, he's good for about a hundredth over the rest of the field if he stays in his rhythym...Cheers, WC1
