last 1/4 mile run with old motor

Postby spib » Sep 27 2009, 03:23

just got back from my last race of yr at my home track, also last 1/4 mile pass with my old stock 350, it went faster then I thought was possible, to date the best I had been was a 12.70 at 105 and change, today went 12.86, 12.52, then a 12.48 to back it, damn that was in the left lane which is a tenth slower, any ways dialed a 12.50 first round, but at the last minute got stuck in right lane went 12.38 on a 12.50 dial at 106.91 mph not bad for a oem 350 with a 470 lift cam, didnt think it had it in her, the guy I raced went 12.70 on a 12.80 dial oh well if I am going to go out then at least it was my fastest pass yet, might race at a 1/8 mile track next sat but for me that was the last 1/4 mile for me with that old motor, now my wife will get it

Nice times Mark....It would have given the 65 a good run don't ya think.

Well, out with the old and in with the new.

Guess next time you post a time in the blazer it will be a 10 second report. 8)

I wish I was loosing weight, went back to a leaner tune, got a new air filter, and shifted at 6200 instead 0f 6400 thats it pluss, changed the fan and raditor, made it puller fans instead of pushers, it ran a lot cooler which helped also, but not them times, I wish I would of had them tmes all yr along, it also did a 1.61 60ft dont know were the hell that also came from, best to date was a 1.65

Sounds to me that Bonnie's getting a great motor Mark. That's impressive for sure, I'm thinking Bonnie will be tickled to have that motor.

I agree, that engine in her s10 should give her a thrill.
